Saffron is alone at the top of Al Majed Oud Wood Black, golden, leathery and faintly metallic, with a dry spiciness that sets the tone. In the heart come leather and amber, a supple dry note and a resinous, warm one. Both continue the saffron's warmth, so the opening and middle feel like one dark, spiced block.
The base is vanilla, musk and oud. Oud is dark, resinous and smoky, vanilla gives creamy sweetness, and musk smooths everything into a softer finish. The dark wood is balanced by the sweet and the clean, so the overall reading is warm, leathery and rich, with oud as its deepest layer.
